Description
Position Summary:
The Revenue Cycle Specialist will provide administrative support to the Revenue Cycle Department in various tasks that impact the agency finances. This position is responsible for obtaining eligibility information and ensuring that the most updated verification is entered into the agency's practice management software.
Salary: $43K
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Accounting, Finance or related field.
Experience:
1 to 3+ years of prior customer experience, financial counseling (particularly in a healthcare environment). Experience verifying insurance and determining benefits.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Detail-oriented, accurate, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to effectively process client-related information.
• Effective organization and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Ability to set priorities and work independently
• Ability to interact in a positive manner with co-workers and supervisor and other team members
• Proficiency in using billing software, Microsoft Excel, Outlook
Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Perform insurance verification for applicable clients.
• Tracking and evaluating out-of-network client benefits.
• Enter purchase orders or authorizations received. Assist in maintaining client invoice records through the Client Care and accounting systems.
• Research authorizations to determine if we have billed against the authorization or research further as needed.
• Research past-due receivables on a weekly basis. Initiate contact with OOD, school districts, businesses or individuals to request payment.
• Assist with answering billing inquiries from clients calling the billing telephone extension
• Assist with scan, mail, and filing projects – e.g. investment statements
• Other duties and projects as assigned by the Director of Revenue Cycle.
