Description
The New York City Muslim Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Customer Service Representative to join our team.

As the first point of contact for individuals reaching out to various branches of our center, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and administrative support.


Responsibilities:

Telephone Communication: Handle incoming and outgoing calls to assist individuals contacting our center. Provide information about our services, programs, and events with clarity, empathy, and professionalism. Ensure all inquiries are addressed promptly and accurately.

Administrative Tasks: Support directors and other team members with administrative duties such as data entry, document preparation, and filing. Maintain organized records and databases.

Cultural Understanding: Demonstrate an understanding of Muslim culture and dynamics, ensuring sensitivity and respect in all interactions.

Customer Service Experience: Utilize previous experience in customer service, secretary, or reception work to effectively handle inquiries and provide exceptional service to all individuals contacting the center.

Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve organizational goals. Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving customer service and operational efficiency.

Research and Problem-Solving: Conduct research as needed to address inquiries or resolve issues. Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and resourcefulness in finding solutions.

Professionalism: Maintain a friendly and welcoming demeanor, offering a smile and positive attitude to all callers and visitors. Uphold the values and mission of the New York City Muslim Center in every interaction.

Perform other related duties and tasks as necessary or as assigned in the above fields.


Requirements:


  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service, secretary, or reception roles.
  • Strong understanding of Muslim culture and dynamics.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Organized and detailoriented with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills and office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Flexibility to work 5 days a week with a lunch break.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience working in a multicultural or religious organization.
  • Fluency in multiple languages, especially Arabic or Urdu.

Pay:
$ $23.00 per hour
