    Job Type Full-timeDescriptionIf you are a team player with a passion to drive your career in Mechanical Engineering, Popli Design Group (PDG) is the place for you PDG is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to add to our growing and talented team.

    As a Mechanical Engineer, your primary responsibilities include performing engineering evaluations, analyses, and field inspections. You will also be responsible for creating design drawings, technical specifications, and cost estimations, all with minimal supervision. Additionally, you will serve as a technical expert, providing assistance to upper-level management and staff as needed.

    Your expertise and knowledge will be valuable in ensuring the successful execution of projects and addressing any technical challenges that may arise.

    As a Mechanical Engineer, you should have knowledge of NYS Mechanical, Energy, and Plumbing codes, as well as NFPA codes.

    Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Microsoft Office Suite is required.

    You should be capable of conducting standard mechanical engineering analysis for both existing and new building systems, ensuring compliance with codes and optimizing designs.

    Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are important for effective teamwork. Experience in energy modeling, LEED Green Associate certification, and Commissioning are preferred.

    A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology is required, and having 3+ years of post-college experience is preferred.

    Experience in designing HVAC and plumbing systems for schools, healthcare facilities, and commercial projects is also desirable.
    ResponsibilitiesPerform engineering evaluations and analyses, field inspections, design drawings, technical specifications and cost estimation with minimal supervision.
    Assists upper level management and staff as a technical expert. Requirements Knowledge of NYS Mechanical, Energy and Plumbing codes, NFPA.Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP and Microsoft Office Suite.

    Able to perform standard mechanical engineering analysis of existing and new building mechanical, plumbing and fire protection systems utilizing the latest codes and technologies to provide optimized designs.

    Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively both written and verbally.
    Energy Modeling experience (Carrier HAP, TRANE TRACE, or EQUEST), LEED Green Associate and Commissioning experience, preferred.

    Experience, Education and CertificationBS in Mechanical Engineering/Engineering Technology (EIT or eligible for PE in NYS upon completion of requirements preferred).3+ years of post-college experience.

    Experience designing HVAC and plumbing systems for schools, healthcare facilities and commercial projects is preferred. Work Environment Professional office environment but may require travel to New York state job sites 10% of the time. Physical DemandsThe job requires prolonged periods of sitting at a computer. Travel may be required within NY State Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
