Description

The Business Analyst serves as a crucial liaison between the business community and the IT organization. They provide technical solutions to meet user needs, understand the business unit's needs, and leverage the IT organization's systems and capabilities. This role plays a pivotal part in managing application initiatives, support, enhancements, and system improvements for the business area.
Responsibilities:

Analysis & Solution Development:
Identify and drive improvements in the use of IT applications.
Analyze complex issues swiftly and determine optimal solutions.
Translate business requirements into technical specifications and liaise with developers.
Requirements Gathering & Documentation:
Manage requests from assigned business areas, gather business requirements, and translate them into functional specifications.
Maintain a backlog of requests and adjust priorities as necessary.
Estimate work effort and develop business cases for enhancements.
Process Management & Documentation:
Assist in business process redesign and documentation.
Update application documentation for all applications within the assigned business area.
Manage maintenance releases of supported systems.

Support & Collaboration:

Provide 3rd tier support for business applications, collaborating with the development team to resolve system issues.
Educate the IT organization on business direction.
Facilitate meetings with key stakeholders.
Manage multiple tasks, priorities, and expectations effectively.
Senior Analyst Responsibilities:
Monitor technological and business trends, staying updated with the latest developments.
Analyze business operations and strategies to identify automation opportunities.
Make recommendations on buy vs. build decisions.
Negotiate agreements between business units and IT.

Required Skills:

Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to extract relevant information from business stakeholders.
Experience translating business requirements into technical requirements.
Well-rounded experience with various IT projects.

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
1-4 years of experience as a Business Analyst; 5-10 years for senior roles.
Strong interpersonal, negotiation, conflict resolution, and risk management skills.
Proven ability to work in dynamic environments and across teams.
Solution-oriented mindset with creative problem-solving skills.
