Reporting to the Controller, the Assistant Controller will lead the accounting operations of the organization, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of a comprehensive system of accounting records, and oversight of internal controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with US GAAP and financial reporting standards.

Alongside our Controller and CFO, this role will be an integral part of ensuring that our organization's accounting function can scale and support growth and transformation, and will address complex financial matters/ processes, drive improvement, and collaborate with others within and outside of the Finance organization.


  • Direct the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
  • Lead all aspects of the monthly and yearend accounting close (including general ledger, project accounting, fixed assets/capitalized software).
  • Oversee the supplier payment function, in collaboration with corporate procurement, to ensure the integrity of the procure to payment process.
  • Oversee and optimize the Accounts Receivable and Billing functions.
  • Direct accounting for government contracts, including Federal Overhead submissions and Single Audit reporting in compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation and Uniform Guidance.
  • Provide monthly, quarterly, and yearend analyses. Perform financial flux analysis.
  • Gather and report key performance indicators for Accounting.
  • Issue timely and complete financial statements and collaborate on the preparation of the annual report.
  • Assess financial systems and process enhancements and drive improvements throughout the accounting organization. Establish processes that enable multiple ERP systems to communicate properly with a global consolidation tool by workday five.
  • Lead controllership activities for global ERP implementation.
  • Develop, review and update accounting policies, procedures, checklists, and related documentation concerning assigned functions and responsibilities.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls in respect of segregation of duties, transaction approvals and safeguarding assets.
  • Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audits.
  • Evaluate Risks & Opportunities and proactively communicate them.
  • Maintain uptodate knowledge of current accounting pronouncements, GAAP and other compliance matters.
  • Engage with business partners to support expansion and accounting for international subsidiaries.
  • Work independently and with the highest level of integrity.
  • Collaborate with the CFO and Controller on other tasks and projects as required.
  • Coach, mentor and develop staff, and provide career development planning and opportunities.
  • Empower employees to take responsibility for their jobs and goals. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback.

Experience and Skills:


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • CPA and/or CMA required
  • MBA is preferred
  • Minimum 15 years progressive experience in accounting/finance
  • Prior management experience required
  • Experience in working with multiple global legal entities and onshore and offshore financial operations and reporting requirements Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills to achieve business relationships across multiple constituencies
