Summary:


The Work Study Student (Archives Clerk) assists the Archivist of the Rush University Medical Center Archives with archival processing, administrative tasks, digitization, and/or reference requests and will be trained as necessary.


Other information:

Minimum Required Job Qualifications:
Must be currently enrolled student at Rush University
Ability to work effectively independently and with a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Applications.
Excellent organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Strong writing, verbal, and active listening skills.


Preferred Job Qualifications:
Proficiency in graphics editing software; database software; scanning technology; content management systems.

Physical Demands:
Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to routinely bend, reach the shelves above the head and at ground level.
Normal archival environment. Dust and mold may be present and could cause difficulty for those with allergies.


Responsibilities:


Job Responsibilities:
Performs sorting, arrangement, and preservation work of archival collections.
Updates and improves existing database inventories.
Digitizes photographs and documents according to Archivist s standards.
Assists Archivist with research requests by investigating queries.
Assists Archivist with both in-person and virtual outreach initiatives.
