    JOB SUMMARY: Therapist evaluates and treats pediatric clients in the Easterseals Therapy Programs. May work in one or a variety of settings: school based therapy, out patient therapy or community contracts.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    1. Completes initial evaluations, re-evaluation with the Pediatric Therapy Program(s)

    2. Documents results of evaluations, client progress notes and summaries, billing information, as well as justifications for equipment, payment and treatment according to policy timeframes.

    3. Responsible for treatment planning and implementation utilizing best practice/evidence based interventions

    4. Successfully establishes and meets goals and objectives outlined on the clients Plan of Care and or IEP.

    5. Manages caseload assigned efficiently and provides supervision of COTA(s).

    6. Fulfill outside contract requirements ( i.e. Volusia County, private or charter schools etc.) while developing positive relationships with contractors; being competent; being on time; completing clinical documentation, accuracy with billing tasks, IEP reviews and meeting ongoing staff training education as requested.

    7. Facilitates coordinated care for pediatric outpatient therapy clients, providing consultations and follow-up with School Program staff, Early Intervention Program staff, Case management team, parents/guardians and clinical director.

    8. Demonstrates a strong commitment to self-development through participation in the peer review program, and at least one of the following: personal development planning, in-service presentation and/or continuing education/seminar attendance. Establishes and achieves personal development objectives.

    9. Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment with safety inspections indicating no re-occurring problems, and/or incident reports due to an unsafe environmental condition.

    10. Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to assume and complete other responsibilities as assigned.

    11. Preserves the integrity and confidentiality of protected health information of Easterseals' clients.

    12. Understands, acknowledges, and implements Easterseals' privacy policies involving the disclosure of protected health information of Easterseals' clients.

    13. Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment.

    14. Completes other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    · Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy

    · Previous pediatric experience preferred.

    License/Certification: Licensed as an OT in the state of Florida.

    Florida Driver's License and proof of current automobile insurance.

    Medicaid and National Provider Number Preferred

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

    · Excellent interpersonal skills.

    · Excellent oral and written communications skills.

    · Basic Computer skills and experience with and Electronic Medical Record.

    · Demonstrates a strong commitment to self-development.

    PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES:

    · Able to lift and carry children weighing up to 50 pounds.

    · Able to stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach.

    · Able to see clearly, close up, and within a ten foot area.

    · Able to express or exchange ideas, indicate client progress, and home care needs by spoken word and in written communication.

    · Operate a computer, copier and fax machines.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    · Willingness to work additional hours as indicated
