    JOB SUMMARY: Are you looking to be part of an organization that changes the lives of children? You have come to the right place This position will be working at different schools in Volusia County. You will have all Volusia County School holidays and summer vacation off. School therapist will provide quality assessments, treatment to include training and progress monitoring maintaining established standards for documentation and daily policies/ processes as determined by DOE, contract /site and Easterseals within a timely manner.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    ● Completes initial evaluation report and CERT form within 60 days of receipt of referral 100% of the time. (exception: those received last month of school year to be held until fall semester and completed in timely manner)

    ● Responsible for treatment planning, implementation and scheduling.

    ● Responsible for timely attendance and management of all IEP related documentation, active participation in IEP's and other forms of school-based student meetings (i.e. SST,504 Plan, student problems solving meetings

    ● Documentation: Documents students' progress in EMR or alternative method as directed by contract/site served meeting documentation practice standard. Completes and documents evaluations and re -evaluations utilizing the contracted standard based on DOE and contract/site requirements. Documents quarterly progress reports, justification for equipment and Easterseals related documents meeting time requirements ( i.e 450 form, caseload summary SLI form).

    ● Supervises: Supervises and mentors assistant level therapists (COTA, PTA, SLPA) and approves treatment notes. Supervises volunteers/interns as indicated

    ● Participates in annual peer reviews of school therapy team members.

    ● Demonstrates a strong commitment to self-development and attends at least one of the following:

    personal development activity, in-service presentation or continuing education seminar.

    ● Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment.

    ● Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to complete other responsibilities as assigned.

    ● Any other duties assigned by supervisor

    ● Acts in accordance and consistently practices Easterseals behavioral expectations and values.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    ● Bachelor's degree required.

    ● Previous pediatric or school therapy experience preferred.

    ● Successful completion of national exam.

    ● License to practice in the State of Florida

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    ● Willingness to be flexible.

    ● Ability to work independently.

    ● Strong oral and written communication skills.

    ● Positive attitude towards individuals with disabilities and the Easterseals work environment.

    ● Excellent interpersonal skills.

    ● Must have a valid Florida driver's license and proof of car insurance.

    PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES:

    ● Must be able to lift and carry school-aged children with disabilities (not to exceed 50 lbs. without

    assistance)

    ● Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach and carry adaptive equipment.

    USE OF TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:

    ● Demonstrates knowledge of assistive/adaptive technology/equipment and ability to instruct use of

    said equipment to necessary school personnel.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    ● Employees are required to work in a drug-free workplace.

    ● Employees are required to work in a smoke-free workplace.
