- Directly responsible for managing assigned projects to include estimated timeline to completion, needed inventory and availability, staffing needs, estimate planning and quality control upon delivery after service.
- Maintaining proper employment levels assisting in selecting, interviewing and training of personnel.
- Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints/build sheets, installation manuals, and schematics.
- Has the ability to troubleshoot a wide variety of boat systems and provide creative solutions for difficult installations and repairs.
- Oversee team and perform hands on mechanical repair of boat systems (jets, plumbing, HVAC, hydraulics).
- Communicates directly and frequently with service management team and technical staff to address and proactively correct potential problems that would impede forward progression of projects
- Understands billing procedures and aids in the billing process.
- Follows prescribed safety best practices and maintaining a clean, efficient work environment
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience as a mechanic, marine industry experience preferred
- Possess the ability to install complete mechanical systems, have a drive and desire to meet or beat schedule and budget for project with no rework. The ability to write condition reports on boats, prepare actual estimates and plan projects through to completion is vital.
- Demonstrates diplomacy and excellent communication/people skills.
- Must have experience in Microsoft, Excel
- Must be comfortable working on all boat systems; Hamilton water jets, engines by Yanmar, CAT, VolvoPenta, Cummins or FPT.
- Must be familiar with working on onboard plumbing systems, hydraulics system installations, troubleshooting and repairs.
- Some knowledge of HVAC is preferred.

The Hinckley Company, known for building and servicing, strong, seaworthy and beautiful yachts is seeking an experienced Marine Mechanic Foreman at the Fort Myers, Florida Yard. The Marine Mechanic Foreman is directly responsible for overseeing the duties of the Mechanic shop including performing and overseeing complex mechanical, hydraulic, and plumbing tasks for boat repairs, as well as utilizing various power and hand-tools. The Mechanic Foreman will plan, carry out and coordinate the daily operational activities so as to maintain and develop agreed organizational performance plans within agreed budgets/timeframes.
