    Job Description:


    Leadership Functions - Leads, assists, schedules, motivates, and evaluates the custodial team consisting of Custodial Workers III, Custodial Workers II, Custodial Workers I, and Custodial Workers engaged in various and detail cleaning tasks throughout assigned facilities.

    Ensures proper safety procedures and policies are consistently followed. Develops schedules, determines work order priorities, assigns work appropriately, and monitors performances. Meets daily with the Lead Workers and conducts regular huddle meetings with all assigned employees. Inspects ongoing work and assists employees as needed. Responsible for continuous employee training and development.

    Employment Functions - Recommends or initiates employment actions (hires, disciplinary actions, extended probationary periods, promotions, transfers, reassignments, terminations, etc.). Makes timely employments recommendations to the Superintendent and Assistant Director or Manager of Operations. Conducts quarterly performance reviews of assigned personnel.

    Coordinates, inspects, and ensures that the custodial workers are trained and competent to discharge their duties, tasks, assignments, and responsibilities.


    Systems and Communication Functions - Regularly communicates with Building Managers and customers to ensure that their needs, expectations are being consistency and competently addressed.

    Provides immediate response and solutions to operational issues that arise during normal working hours. Assigns Work Orders in AiM and charges time as needed. Orders and controls the distribution of supplies and equipment in all assigned facilities. Checks and approves time for employees on Kronos and assist new employees with inputting time-off requests as needed.

    Uses computer and other electronic devices to requisition supplies and materials, generates project estimates, and regularly communicate (oral, written, electronic, etc.) with employees and customers.

    Work Functions - Supervises and assists in various custodial tasks as appropriate or necessary. Ensures that all custodial equipment and machines are properly maintained after use and appropriately stored. Orders supplies and manages equipment inventory and budget. Reports any malfunctioning equipment in assigned area to the Warehouse Maintenance Generalist for timely repairs and/or replacement. Timely reports maintenance problems that arise in assigned areas to the Work Management Office. Ensures that entrance doors and applicable office and classroom are unlocked and locked on schedule.


    Drives a state vehicle to monitor the operational scope of assigned facilities, and to transport supplies and employees as appropriate.

    Emergencies and performs other duties as assigned or required.





    NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE:
    5:00AM to 1:30PM (Monday through Friday). Workdays and shift times may vary in response to customer needs for special event coverage and/or departmental needs. Some overtime may be required.

    Management retains the right and discretion to modify schedules, building assignments, shifts and/or days for operational purposes.

    Position is considered as Essential Personnel as defined by UF Policy.

    A Criminal background check and post offer health assessment will be conducted.


    Expected Salary:
    $17.25 Hourly


    Minimum Requirements:
    High school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience.


    Preferred Qualifications:


    High school diploma and six (6) years of relevant commercial custodial experience Appropriate vocational training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

    Knowledge of commercial cleaning procedures and techniques.

    Experience with Aim, Kronos, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PeopleSoft).

    Experience managing and motivate a diverse workforce.

    Experience interfacing and providing customer service that aligns with Building Services' mission.

    Experience working collaboratively and cooperatively in a team environment

    Floor care training and experience (hard surfaces and carpets).

    Experience in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting.
