As a Controls Engineer within our Lexington office, you will excel in in a multi-faceted role supporting our clients in the Automation Solutions space.
You will develop and articulate solutions to complex client automation problems, oversee project execution at a high level providing conceptual and technical expertise and develop and maintain client relationships.
Ultimately, you will provide superior client experiences partnering with your internal team to cohesively deliver a vision, energy, and intensity that exceeds client expectations.
This role is based in Lexington, Kentucky. JMP is open to discussing relocation assistance.What Would a Typical Day Look Like?Technically, Controls Engineers will work on various stages of automation and control projects including electrical design, PLC programming HMI design SCADA systems and troubleshooting/testing/debuggingYou will exercise Project Management skills by assisting with quoting, materials ordering and budgetingParticipate in planning sessions that will identify industry business drivers and trends that will serve as the basis for developing key offerings to our clients, attend client field service and emergency calls and partake in customer meetings sharing your technical expertiseWhat Qualifies You for this Opportunity?An Engineering Degree or Technology Diploma in Electrical, Mechatronics, Systems Design, or related programExperience in the Automation industry as an Engineer, Technologist and/or project manager, technically delivering on projects is an assetA keen interest to work with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC-5, SLC500, ControlLogix), HMI Programming, AutoCAD/Electrical Design, Debug/Testing/CommissioningKnowledgeable regarding automotive industry or manufacturing processesA proven self-starter who is motivated by solving complex challengesStrong client-focused approachWorks well with a variety of different people from diverse backgroundsOutstanding communication skills, both oral and writtenMotivated & passionate about working with people and overcoming challenges through collaboration and a win-win paradigmAn ability to travel; currently travel is approximately 25% for controls EngineersThe ability to travel to Canada is a plusJMP Solutions (a Convergix Company)Founded in 1987, JMP is an automation systems integrator offering solutions to diverse industrial and consumer end markets.
