Housekeeper (Full Time Opportunity)

No Experience Necessary

Our Housekeeping team members maintain a clean and inviting environment throughout our community, completing general and detailed housekeeping functions. The successful candidate will be willing to work in a service-oriented, fast-paced environment.

Bishop Gadsden located on James Island, is a not-for-profit, faith-based retirement community located just 10 minutes from downtown Charleston Compensation is based on experience, up to $17.51 / hr.

Responsibilities

Clean resident apartments, common areas and offices following Bishop Gadsden cleaning standards
Sweep/vacuum all assigned areas, mop hard floors, clean all room furnishings including fixtures, ledges, windows, blinds, mirrors, walls and ceilings
Prepare and organize supplies and equipment as needed from supply area and load onto cleaning cart
Follow safety policies and procedures and maintain safe work habits at all times
Participate in educational and departmental opportunities as well as in staff functions
Perform all responsibilities with adherence to Resident's Rights and HIPAA

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Pleasant interaction skills are necessary for exchanging information as well as maintaining a courteous relationship with the residents, families, visitors and employees
Maintain professional appearance and conduct exhibiting a respectful and courteous demeanor at all times
Ability to stand, stoop, bend, reach, squat, climb, reach above head, carry, and lift (up to 50 lbs.)

Required Education and Experience

High school education or equivalent preferred
