    About the Role

    The Sr Manager of Platform Purchasing will be responsible for providing support for strategic procurement activities, including spend analysis, detailed savings analysis, and sourcing process development and execution across product platforms. This role will lead significant amounts of information gathering, data consolidation, and data refinement activities to support various projects successfully.

    You Will Do

    • Develop sourcing plan by partnering with engineering team and identifying key commodities and establish SOR and source selection required dates to deliver key purchasing driven timeline.
    • Represent the purchasing team at the project gate reviews and ensure critical sourcing dates are met to support various MRDs for product development stages.
    • Support cost book development by developing program cost commitment and purchasing savings opportunities.
    • Oversee program readiness and develop lead time for sourcing/tooling/PPAP. Provide pull signal for timely delivery for sourcing materials i.e. SOR and engineering release timeline.
    • Leverage purchasing resources by actively participating in team activities including internal/external customer gate reviews and building events.
    • Lead purchasing meetings and leverage purchasing resources for cross functional activities and represent purchasing related tasks.
    • Identify and assess purchasing risks and issues and provide solutions.
    • Facilitate AESC purchasing process ensuring selected suppliers have cross-functional buy-ins
    • Support commodity teams and identify link and leverage opportunities across teams. Manage buyer workload allocation to assure program deliverables and act as advocate/driver for common standards/specifications/SORs.
    • Collect purchasing lessons-learned and provide platform team with continuous improvement suggestions.
    • Acts as a mentor to Analysts within the team by providing coaching and guidance.
    • Travel as necessary

    What You Need

    • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business administration, industrial engineering, economics, or related technical field with MBA preferred.
    • 10+ years of experience in procurement, logistics/transportation, supply chain, finance, operations, or related fields (automotive, manufacturing industry experience preferred).
    • Possesses strong analytical skills and demonstrates expertise in technical applications such as SAP
    • Experienced in manipulating large, complex data sets and can leverage analytical skills to drive and influence business decisions.
    • Experienced in building, implementing, and running various market events SAP Ariba and Coupa Sourcing Optimization experience preferred but not required
    • Proven record in effective problem-solving and project management skills and strives for continuous improvement.
    • Demonstrates business financial knowledge.
    • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills and comfortable in presenting to executive-level stakeholders and other cross-functional leadership..

    Nice to Have

    • Previous Six Sigma training, Black or Green Belt desired.
    • Experience in developing and implementing category strategies.
    • Experience in implementing a source-to-pay framework with IT support on a global basis.
    • Advanced degree in Business Administration or Purchasing Management.
    • Nationally recognized professional certification (Certified Purchasing Manager or Certified Professional Contract Manager).

    Work Environment

    The work environment is primarily an automated manufacturing plant with a concrete floor and is characterized by some temperature extremes, moderate noise, and forklift traffic.
