    TACTICAL DATALINKS ENGINEER IV

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


    Works with Test Engineers (TE's) in designing and configuring test architects for developmental, operational, and exercise test events; assists with data collection for the post technical reports.

    Works and operates associated tactical datalink equipment within an independent operation or facility.

    Responsible for associated development, operation and maintenance of various complex computer hardware configurations, software applications, and/or network designs, installation and maintenance.


    GENERAL DUTIES:

    Duties include installation and troubleshooting of typical electronic equipment/computers in government run labs. A strong background in tactical datalink systems is highly desired. Will be required to work Link-16, SADL, and VMF datalinks along with applicable host applications.

    Will set-up test equipment, assist and execute test scripts, run test procedures, interpret block diagrams, and collect data for Test Engineers.

    May be required to perform software adaptations and computer troubleshooting diagnosis and to establish connectivity between multiple host systems over IP, serial, SATCOM and JREAP protocols.

    Will be required to work with RF equipment, various aircraft simulators, and host computer systems for datalinks.

    Must also be capable of performing assignments including the solution of complex problems which cannot typically be resolved using established procedures or vendors manuals.

    Will be required to obtain flight line badge and work daily with COMSEC & CCI material. A commercial driver's license (CDL) is desirable. Overtime will be required. Occasional TDY will be required, must have good vocal skills, and work in a group/team environment.

    Additional duties may be assigned to support contract/mission support requirements in job-related areas.

    EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
    :

    Applicant must be a technical or service school graduate with seven years' applicable experience or graduate of TADIL 101, 201.

    Must have strong hardware & software computer skills, experience with Windows 7 & 10 operating systems. Network protocol experience required. Must be experienced in building IP & serial connections between computers & networks. Must be able to use test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers. Knowledge in Link-16 operations to include TDL architectures, TDL management, and Optasklink desired. Knowledge in datalink JREAP protocols required. RF knowledge with UHF/VHF/GPS/SATCOM desired. Specific datalink knowledge to operate, host & configure Link-16, VMF, and SADL radios required. Experience with JRE, ADSI, BOSS, NSITE and other datalink software highly desired. Security Plus certification is desired.


    OTHER REQUIREMENTS
    :

    Additional duties may be assigned to support contract/mission support requirements in job-related areas. Must be available for travel. Must be capable of working with limited supervision. This position requires a Secret security clearance. Candidates must have and maintain a Secret security clearance. Applicant will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

    All selected candidates must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation and drug test as a condition of placement into this position.

    Supports E-OMS operational objectives. Observes company quality, safety, environmental, security and administrative policies; supports process improvements.


    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    Work assignments can be both indoor and outdoor under various environmental conditions. Duties will require occasionally working outdoors in varying weather conditions.


    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    Will be required to lift, pull, or carry items of weight and size commensurate with job requirements.
