Eaton's IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Quality Engineering Manager. This position will be a part of Eaton's Aerospace group, specifically supporting the Irvine California facility. This facility has roughly 200 employees, with output in excess of $100M annually.The expected annual salary range for this role is $ $ a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
What you'll do:
Reporting to the Site Quality Manager, this position gives direction to Quality Engineering and Repair Station Quality Engineering. This position provides leadership, mentoring, evaluation and development of Quality Engineers.
- The QE Manager will facilitate problem solving, ensure coordination and communication of corrective and preventive actions, and assist the site quality manager in system development and maintenance
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develop, implement and monitor performance against short and longrange plans to achieve internal quality and inspection objectives.
- Identify needs and develop the Quality Engineering functions as required.
- Select and develop competent Quality Engineers to ensure quality goals are achieved.
- Provide direction to ensure compliance with all applicable customer requirements and government regulations involving product quality.
- Drive customer and internal corrective action and preventive action for timely and effective completion.
- In collaboration with the Site Quality Manager review, improve & standardize the daily activities and actions necessary to support the key functional initiatives which will drive the organization forward.
- Analyze key organizational metrics and recommend actions & plans to drive for improvements.
- Works collaboratively with applicable internal functional teams to improve key metrics. Actively support Cost-Out, Scrap/Rework reduction and improved First Pass Yield site goals and objectives.
- Assure effective communication and reporting to customers and suppliers, as needed.
- Assure compliance with control phase of quality systems and initiatives such as internal auditing, statistical process control and testing.
- Provides Quality Leadership to customers, suppliers, and internal manufacturing cells.
- Leads continuous improvement activities in targeted areas.
- Designs and implements quality assurance training programs and conducts training in qualityrelated topics.
- Lead/Support MRB activities as needed
- Ensures development, implementation, and audit of complex inspection and test plans, standards and acceptance criteria, and procedures/work instructions.
- Host Source inspectors and/or Customer Auditors as needed.
- Function as Lead Auditor to perform quality system audits at suppliers and internally to assess compliance to AS9100/ISO 9001 standards.
- Hosts and supports Internal, Customer, Supplier, and 3rd Party Audits as required.
- Performs review of customer/industry/internal specifications to ensure processes meet/exceed requirements.
- Provides technical support to operations, customers, and suppliers as needed.
- Participates in product development gate review meetings with launch activities including identification of customer expectations ensuring that Quality requirements and flow downs are understood and to help drive compliance.
- Define, specify, and implement quality standards and procedures for manufacturing and inspection processes.
- Supervises other personnel as assigned or required.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 2 (two) years in Quality Supervision or Management
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five (5) years of work experience in Quality function in the Aerospace industry
- Experience working with Aerospace customers and suppliers.
- Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Knowledge of Quality Control systems and techniques, such as AS9100, ISO 9001, including statistical quality control and inspection and investigation techniques.
- Knowledge of standard manufacturing processes including acceptance testing, assembly operations, machining, welding, and measurement systems in an Aerospace environment
- Demonstrated use of Lean Tools and Six Sigma and problemsolving tools and techniques (8D, A3, 3Legged 5 Why).
- Experienced in use of continuous improvement lean manufacturing principles and scrap reduction tools (5S+, Value Stream Mapping, PDCA, Standard Work, and Poka-Yoke).
- Experienced in use of AIAG quality tools to reduce variability and mitigate risk (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, and SPC).
- FAA/EASA knowledge.
