Landscape Supervisor


The Landscape Supervisor is responsible for managing our landscape team members and assessing landscape needs at all properties in our San Diego portfolio.

This individual will also assist with gardening and landscaping needs and be a strategic partner with our operations management team whose ultimate goal is creating the harmony of urban communities and their environmental connection through food and healthy soil.


_Essential duties:
_


  • Direct and participate in daily onsite landscape projects and tasks.
  • Direct and supervise the performance of six landscape teams as well as lead and supervise two irrigation installation teams.
  • Direct and supervise the driving and hauling of our two trailers.
  • Create and update scheduling for the six landscape teams, two irrigation teams, and two hauling teams.
  • Delegate tasks to team members and assume responsibility for the correct completion of assignments.
  • Provide technical landscape, horticultural maintenance, and plant and irrigation installation training to team members.
  • Monitor the water management of our irrigation systems and aim to reduce unnecessary water usage. Isolate drip irrigation to one valve as well as spray irrigation to another. Keep spray irrigation off hardscape and building infrastructure,
  • Replace and improve irrigation where we can gain long term efficiencies.
  • Implement compost program at our properties.
  • Consistently improve the microbiology of our soil through organic fertilizers, composting, and grow mulch.
  • Use the landscape plan provided or lead in creating a plan for improved and updated plant material leaving a modern and updated feel for the resident.
  • Ensure implementation of the plant plan as allowed through budgeted allowances for weekly and monthly maintenance and enhancement budgets.
  • Help in creating yearly budgets per property as well as enhancement budgets per property.
  • Ensure safe use, cleanliness, and general maintenance of assigned landscape vehicle and equipment.
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with all members of our communities and team.
  • Complete daily reports through Teams and communicate with managers timely.
  • Plant and/or maintain vegetation through activities such as mulching, organic fertilizing, watering, mowing, or pruning.
  • Implement regenerative farming practices.
  • Answer inquiries from management regarding methods and materials for current and future landscape projects.
  • Train and supervise workers on tasks such as transplanting or pruning shrubs, using equipment, or caring for materials.
  • Perform tasks such as cutting grass, planting flowers, pulling weeds, trimming edges, picking up trash, and watering plants installing plant material and irrigation.
  • Lower green waste costs by implementing organic composting.
  • Lower water costs by creating efficiencies in water management.
  • Monitor irrigation clocks for water efficiency.
  • Participate in each assets yearly inspection to conduct a thorough water audit.
  • Other duties as assigned.

_Required Skills/Abilities:
_


  • Minimum of two years' experience in troubleshooting and repairing landscape irrigation valves, sprinklers, and timers.
  • Knowledge of operating, maintaining, and repairing lawnmowers, trimmers and other landscapeoriented equipment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Teams for daily communication with management.
  • Must be able to work in a fastpaced dynamic environment.
  • Have strong communication skills alongside a positive attitude. Exhibit teamwork and Company culture in all interactions.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and ability to commute between multiple properties daily.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Horticulture and regenerative farming practices

_Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull 25 pounds regularly.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs.
  • Must be able to sit, bend, crawl, kneel, and reach.
  • Must be able to traverse worksite in different types of weather.
  • Must be able to navigate uneven terrain.

Pay:
$ $38.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
