Summary
Labs and Research Technicians perform a variety of routine, technical, and administrative responsibilities in support of research at the university.
The incumbent will also be responsible for coordination of research projects at the stage of data analysis to manuscript writing; will be responsible for final manuscript preparation for publication and submission of manuscripts for publication; may also contribute to grant writing through literature review, preparation of preliminary data, and supplying details for methods sections; may work independently or as a member of a team; will work with more than one PI on different projects at the same time; will interact with students, other faculty, and other laboratory staff; work under general supervision, resolving most standard issues independently and referring complex issues to a PI.
-Typical Duties
- Data Management and Data Analysis (30%)
- Research Project Coordination with other contributors including students and staff (10%)
- Report and Grant Writing (50%)
- Final Manuscript Preparation and Submission (10%)
Minimum Qualification
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.
- Bachelor's of science degree with documented experience in research or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Qualification
***- Master of Science degree with experience working in a research environment is preferred.
