INTRODUCTION


The Strategic Planning and Compliance Specialist will be responsible for the implementation of strategic initiatives to drive organizational growth, overseeing and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements (Federal and State of NJ) along with internal policies to The Midland School, Midland Adult Services and The Midland Foundation ("Midland").

This role will involve working with senior leadership to analyze trends, conduct audits, develop and implement compliance policies and procedures in addition to providing guidance to employees on compliance-related matters.


RESPONSIBILITIES


Work closely with the Director of Strategic Planning and key members of Midland's executive team to identify and implement short-term and long-term goals, unifying all organizational components of Midland, technical assistance with the day-to-day management across Midland services and assisting in expansion of services for all Midland programs.


Project Management:

  • Collaborate with Midland Directors to plan, execute, and monitor projects, assisting with meeting strategic objectives;
  • Coordinate project teams and delegate tasks to team members;
  • Track project progress and prepare status reports;

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and mentor staff, providing guidance and support in their daytoday activities;
  • Assist in recruitment and onboarding processes, when necessary;
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment;

Strategic Planning:

  • Participate in strategic planning discussions and help develop longterm goals and objectives;
  • Conduct research and analysis to support decisionmaking;

Communication:

  • Ensure clear and effective communication within the organization;
  • Serve as coordinator for internal and external investigations and inquiries related to Midland;
  • Serve as a spokesperson and advocate for Midland, actively promoting the best interests of the organization;

Policy and Procedure Compliance:

  • Ensure that the organization follows established policies, procedures, and regulations;
  • Certify compliance with legal, regulatory and financial requirements of funders;
  • Reviews and evaluates compliance issues/concerns within the agency to identify and/or avoid fraud, waste and abuse;
  • Perform other incidental and related duties, as required and assigned;
  • Establishes and implements an effective compliance program to prevent illegal, unethical or improper conduct;
  • Serves as a primary point of contact for internal and external cross functional teams including but not limited to operational, financial and support services teams;

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Management, Social Work, Education and/or related fields; Master's degree preferred. One to Two (12) years (5 years preferred) of experience in the management of programs, services and supports to individuals with I/DD;
  • New Jersey Criminal Review Clearance;
  • Intermediate to Advanced PC skills with proficiency in:
  • MS Office including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint;
  • Human Services software.
  • Must have high initiative, integrity, strong work ethic, excellent communication and analytical skills;
  • Excellent time management, strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment;
  • Ability to maintain a highlevel of confidentiality along with proven problemsolving and decisionmaking skills;
  • Able and willing to work well in a diverse environment.
