Salary Range:
$91, $110,825.00*- _The salary range is the one that Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Compensation Analyst is a member of the Human Resources team and independently researches market compensation against position requirements to ensure that Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP remains competitive for the purposes of attracting, motivating, and retaining outstanding talent.

The analyst provides excellent customer service with a tailored approach when preparing and delivering information for various levels of management within the firm.

Job Functions & Responsibilities

  • Prepares and maintains job descriptions for each position in the firm; ensures descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed by incumbents.
  • Works with HR management and managers to gather and document job, organizational, and occupational information including duties, responsibilities, and skills required by each job.
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate maintenance of the firm's job description library.
  • Assesses roles and their respective duties to determine FLSA classification and appropriate salary range.
  • Provides primary support for the annual compensation planning cycles, including system design requirements and program deliverables.
  • Prepares and maintains compensation survey data and other market intelligence to ensure competitive compensation ranges for each position; uses spreadsheet and data analysis techniques to assess results and market trends.
  • Reviews survey results and proactively provide the analysis of market trend and recommendations for any changes in the firm's structure or individual adjustments based on the data.
  • Prepares summary reports of position analysis and compensation analysis information for presentation to senior management, and leadership as required.
  • Working closely with leadership and recruiting team, prices new and existing roles and provides recommendations on new hire offers, promotions, and adjustments.
  • With HR management, evaluates and implements job analysis instruments, data sources and other materials.
  • With HR management, drives the enhancement of the firm's compensation programs and processes, including, but not limited to, the development and refinement of salary grades, crossdepartmental positionleveling, and incentive programs.
  • Develops novel compensation approaches to meet the firm's needs in an everchanging talent environment.
  • Ensures consistency, equity and appropriate transparency of the firm's compensation and related incentive programs.
  • Assists with design and implementation of compensationrelated management tools.
  • With HR management, prepares and submits data related to statutory reporting.
  • Maintains and develops current knowledge on applicable state and federal employment regulations, compensation policies and related human resource procedures to advise management as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED and 4+ years of experience in compensation analysis. Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of three years' experience developing and maintaining compensation programs in a sophisticated environment.
  • Law Firm or professional services experience highly desired.
  • Strong knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant human resource laws, regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (pivot tables and formulae) or similar software.
  • Familiarity with HRIS & Payroll systems.
