Maintenance Laborer

Salary:
$14.89/Hour

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Maintenance Laborer, under the direct supervision of the Crew Chief, and the Maintenance Supervisor, will maintain the Town-owned property along with the Dean and Barbara White Community Center.

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Prior experience with snow removal and lawn maintenance preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Engage in a wide variety of tasks, such as snow removal, cutting grass with commercial mowers, weed removal, and trimming trees, shrubs, and branches.
Inspect lots and collect debris.
Support the Maintenance Supervisor and Building Manager as needed.
Report any damage, deterioration, or maintenance needed to the Supervisor.
Ability to understand and follow written and oral directions.
Must work cooperatively on a work crew, and also have the ability to work independently.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public.
Other duties may be assigned by the Supervisor as deemed necessary.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to pass a background check and a drug screening.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Must be able to reach overhead, above the shoulder, and horizontally.
Standing for extended periods of time.
Must be able to bend, squat, sit, stand, and walk.
Lifting and carrying heavy objects 100lbs minimum.
