    The Tenth Judicial District, whichincludes eight counties in the Northern Suburbs of the Twin Cities Metro Area, is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Court Operations Leadworker II to join the Anoka County Court Administration team in Anoka, MN.This position is open internally to current Minnesota Judicial Branch Anoka County Assignment Division employees only.


    As a Court Operation Leadworker II, you will perform highly advanced clerical work and serves the public, judges, and other court employees by working as an assigned leadworker in the Assignments Division of Court Administration.

    The incumbent of this position will perform a majority of the same duties as a Court Operation Associate within the office.

    Added responsibilities will include performing a wide variety of complex case processing, training and operational support responsibilities for the division, and providing back up throughout the office.

    Work requires the use of independent judgment, application of specialized clerical knowledge and comprehensive understanding of division specific court operations and procedures.


    This AFSCME-represented position is classified as a Court Operation Leadworker II and located in the Anoka County Courthouse at 2100 3rd Ave.

    Anoka, MN 55303, with the possibility of a remote or hybrid work environment. Core business hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm.


    Initial days off:
    Saturday, Sunday, and Court Designated Holidays.

    Example of Duties

    The following description of this position is condensed for purposes of posting and is not intended to be a complete list of job duties and responsibilities:

    Provides work direction to staff within theAnoka County Assignments Divisionwhich includes:


    • Reviewing court clerical and/or financial work for accuracy and compliance
    • Serving as first contact for troubleshooting problems and assisting staff with the more complex or challenging case processing and customer service responsibilities
    • Scheduling work assignments and reassigning as necessary
    • Coordinating workflow and monitoring workload and coverage within the office
    • Drafting and maintaining procedural guides and training manuals for all job assignments
    • Providing training, feedback and coaching on use of computer systems, case processing and court procedures
    • Informing management of work progress and backlogs, and assisting staff in meeting performance standards
    • Transmitting information between management and staff andmay overseethe assigned division in the supervisor/manager absence
    • Returning public and stakeholder phone calls
    • Working on special projects and other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager
    • Performing advanced clerical work, manually and electronically, on the MN Court Informational System (MNCIS) and related computer systems (i.e., imaging systems, the OFP database, DVS, and others) as needed in performing court clerical duties within the assigned division
    • Performing both administrative office duties and courtroom duties as assigned in conjunction with Leadworker duties and provide back-up whenever necessary
    • Generating operational and audit reports, reviewing for accuracy, signing off, and working with staff to correct; preparing statistical and financial reports as required in the assigned division
    • Providing input to the supervisor regarding issues such as performance appraisal of employees
    • Attend biweekly meetings with Supervisors and/or Manager. Attend, participate and facilitate workgroup meetings, division meetings and Leadworker meetings to discuss policy and procedures. Serve as a resource for district and/or statewide projects or initiatives and objective and timelines are met.
    • Manage documents, minute taking and calendar updates and prepare paperwork required for bonds, notices etc. and provide follow through. Update case records in MNCIS. Provide courtroom order and protocol.
    Typical Qualifications

    Education & Experience


    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • At least three (3) years of experience as a Court Operations Associate or equivalent experience
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


    • Considerableclerical knowledge of the current day-to-day operations, functions, and scope of authority of the assigned division, including experience with courtroom, scheduling and juvenile case processing
    • Considerable understanding of court operations and procedures and experience in applying them to the work of the Court Administration office
    • Strong working knowledge of MNCIS with minimal errors and ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues
    • Demonstrated thorough knowledge of courtroom responsibilities and skills required to effectively clerk all case types and calendars
    • Ability to express ideas concisely and clearly orally and in writing
    • Demonstrated interpersonal skills reflecting a positive attitude and ability to work well with any team
    • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs
    • Demonstrated ability to learn new technology and processes without difficulty
    • Ability to provide training, feedback and coaching, and to adapt training methods to accommodate diverse learning styles
    • Demonstrated attention to detail
    • Ability to perform court work both quickly and accurately and to focus on priority tasks while keeping track of multiple simultaneous duties
    • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive, effective relationships with co-workers and management
    • Demonstrated ability to be effective in addressing conflict situations with co-workers and customers
    • Demonstrated excellent listening, multi-tasking, interpersonal and customer service skills
    • Ability to be flexible in changes with workloads, job assignments, new procedures, different computer systems, court trends, and priorities
    • Demonstrated and sustained history of excellent attendance and punctuality
    • Reliable, dependable and accountable.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to be versatile and resourceful in addressing division needs while keeping in mind certain information is sensitive in nature and needs to be handled appropriately.
    Preferred Qualifications


    • Paralegal, Associate's or Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent
    • Three years' experience working as a Senior Court Clerk in the Assignments Division.
    • Previous leadership experience, such as a team lead.
