As an
Employee Relations (ER) Project Manager, you will be part of Chewy's ER Center of Excellence (COE), which provides specific expertise in employee relations, investigations, and risk management for one of the fastest-growing and most dynamic companies in e-commerce today.

This unique role will focus on conducting fair, unbiased, and consistent investigations in response to a wide range of team member issues and escalations while partnering with Chewy's legal team on employee concerns that pose a high risk to the Company.

In addition, this role will provide programmatic and project support related to ER standard work. This work includes proactive and ongoing growth initiatives that build the evolution of this COE at Chewy.


This dynamic opportunity combines your expertise in conducting employee relations investigations with leveraging HR program and project management experience to support a portfolio of ER projects.

What You'll Do:


  • Complete employee relations investigations, including conducting interviews, gathering evidence, and making recommendations for resolution while ensuring investigations are conducted impartially, confidentially, and in accordance with company policies and legal standards
  • Provide recommendations for the appropriate course of action based on the outcome of investigations
  • Use excellent interviewing, interpersonal, and documentation techniques and utilize the designated online case management tool (Ethics Point) for reporting, documenting, and tracking investigations
  • Partner with the Legal team for issue escalation and training HR team members in conducting thorough investigations in compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Support and help drive program and project work related to the expansion and growth of the COE
  • Support the evolution and improvement of the ER standard framework (process, tools, guides, training, etc.) for managing internal allegations and claims for conducting, appropriately reporting, and documenting investigations and other employee relations matters
  • Track and analyze employee relations metrics, trends, and outcomes, preparing regular reports and presentations for HR leadership and senior management to inform decisionmaking and drive continuous improvement
  • Support the development and delivery of training programs on employee relations topics, such as conflict resolution, effective communication, and diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Provide coaching and support to managers on managing employee relations issues proactively
  • Serve as a point of contact for projectrelated inquiries and communications; Liaise with internal stakeholders and project partners to ensure smooth project implementation
  • Ensure HR projects comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies. Stay informed about changes in HR regulations and best practices
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance employee relations, foster open communication, and promote a positive work culture
  • Collaborate with HR leadership to align employee relations initiatives with organizational goals
  • Uphold the highest level of accountability and maintain credibility throughout the organization, ensuring strict adherence to the integrity of and sensitivity in handling all aspects of private data and confidential matters

What You'll Need:


  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, employee relations, or other related field
  • 5+ years of progressive employee relations experience, including experience in conducting workplace investigations
  • Previous experience in an international ecommerce, distribution, or fulfillment center organization or experience in the veterinary or pharmaceutical industry is a plus
  • Vast knowledge of federal and state employment law (i.e., Wage and Hour regulations, state leave regulations, ADA, FMLA, etc.), as well as Labor Relations and standard methodologies in conducting workplace investigations
  • Experience working with HR information systems (i.e., Workday) and investigation case management software (i.e., Ethics Point)
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment and handle complex or volatile situations/individuals effectively and to mediate in situations where required
  • Experience creating and conducting training related to ER investigations and compliance, driven by investigative best practices and company policies and procedures
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, both independently and collaboratively, in a fastpaced environment with high attention to detail, reliability, and efficiency
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with a keen attention to detail
