ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Answers incoming calls, and routes calls to the proper location site or department.
  • Trains, leads, and assists other customer service team members as the department grows.
  • Investigates, reports, and responds to inquiries from policyholders (members), providers and/or others for information and assistance.
  • Develops and maintains positive customer relations, and coordinates with various functions
within the company to ensure customer requests and questions are handled appropriately and in a timely manner.

  • Required to meet department goals and expectations in meeting productivity, quality, and accuracy.
  • Supports compliance with applicable laws, regulations, procedures, and policies.
  • Assists mail clerk responsibilities as back up or needed as to separate UM appeals and claims
incoming mail and date stamp date received. Preparation of outgoing mail, to include manual collation and assembly. Fulfillment and postage of outgoing mail using tabletop mail/bindery

processing equipment.

  • Performs other duties as required and assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; 5 years of experience in an automated customer service
environment; or any combination of education and experience in related health care field.

  • Bilingual Vietnamese preferred.
  • Ability to operate a computer.
  • The mental capacity to understand contracted health plan Medicare Advantage benefits, network
and the ability to verbally communicate those benefits to members and providers.

  • Must comply with HIPAA rules and regulations.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing as well as with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Word and Excel and Google Documents & Sheet
