Minimum Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited higher education institution or at least five (5) years of applicable administrator experience.
At least 1 year of recent experience as an LMS Administrator providing technical support for Brightspace or another LMS.
Experience supporting Brightspace.
Experience in writing and/or editing technical documentation.
Basic understanding of instructional design principles, practices, and/or theories.
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts in non-technical terms.
Excellent customer service and support oriented-approaches to interaction are required.
Works well in a positive, high energy team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

At least 2 years of recent experience working as an LMS administrator.
Recent experience working as a Brightspace GUI administrator.
Familiarity working in a multi-tenant environment.
Recent experience configuring and/or implementing 3rd party LMS tools.
Experience in timeline and project management and/or implementation of business and functional requirements.
Strong knowledge of instructional design principles, practices, and/or theories.
Recent experience in Quality Assurance (QA) processes and practices.
Knowledge of web accessibility issues.
Knowledge of standards (i.e., IMS, SCORM, LTI) and their implementation.
Basic networking and web server knowledge.
Experience with Oracle Structured Query Language (SQL)


Duties Description

Job Description:


The SUNY DLE LMS Administrator reports to the Manager of Application Services for SUNY Online and works with current staff to support campus Brightspace implementations as well as the continuous operation of both the Brightspace and Blackboard LMS to serve the program needs of university-wide services, SUNY campuses and their staff, faculty, and students.

A flexible schedule may be necessary to accommodate evening and weekend hours.


Responsibilities:

Provide Brightspace administration support for SUNY campuses

Serve as an escalation contact for support issues, including interactions with D2L for Brightspace and Anthology for Blackboard Learn and other vendor support services.

Collaborate with SUNY University-wide staff on configuration, maintenance, documentation, and support of LMS services in a production environment.
Participate in the integration (planning, testing, and implementation) of new technologies including Brightspace updates and third-party products.
Create, manage, and enforce LMS standards, policies, and procedures.
Provide high quality customer service.
Participate on and contribute to committees, work groups, and project teams.


Additional Comments

Additional Information:
Salary is dependent on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, training, and certifications. The range for this position is $60,000-$68,000.
This position is SL-3 and is part of the United University Professions Union.
