The appointee will become a core faculty member in a NASPAA-accredited public administration program that is ranked 7th nationally in Urban Policy, 8th in Public Management and Leadership, 10th in Nonprofit Management by U.S.

News and World Report and holds two other top-25 rankings in Public Affairs and Administration. Rutgers SPAA ranked #5 in the nation, #10 in the world for Public Administration by ShanghaiRanking Consultancy. SPAA was ranked No. 7 Worldwide for Public Administration in 2023 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects.

As a major public university in New Jersey's largest city, located just a few miles from New York City, the Newark Campus of Rutgers provides students with the knowledge and preparation necessary for leadership roles in an increasingly complex society, with particular attention to its public mission as an anchor institution.

The School offers an undergraduate major in public and nonprofit administration,an on-campus MPA, a fully online MPA, an Executive MPA, and a research-oriented Ph.

D. Faculty are also involved in several certificate programs. Total enrollment is more than 800 degree and non-degree students. Teaching and published research are each important to the School.
