Position Summary:

The QA Manager is responsible for monitoring the production process for compliance to all respective codes, company policies and quality of the product(s).

This position also assists with training team members on the production line and communicates changes or modifications of the production process to the entire team.


Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Maintain current master copy of all documents in the office including supplier data, supplier audit reports, DAPIA, ECR's, record of changes, CEF forms, etc.
  • Distribute materials (DAPIA updates, supplier data, product standards, etc.) in a meeting environment with full explanation of changes or additions.
  • Review all change orders.
  • Review service trends on a weekly basis to reveal any weak areas in the production process.
  • Initiate ECR's for proposed changes or modifications of the DAPIA designs or Floor Plans.
  • Followup with all paperwork distributions to assure changes are being made in accordance with distributed drawings and specifications.
  • Perform a systematic documented line inspection, in a 14 day rotation of CCI items, material installation, and observation of testing equipment.
  • Daily inspection of a labeled unit.
  • Followup inspections of yard work and retesting.
  • Ensure that the QA Administration
  • FTC Database is updated routinely and monitor for repetitive issues or other quality issues.
  • During IPIA inspections, ensure Asst. QA Department Manager routinely walk with the IPIA while in their respective departments.
  • Debrief General Manager and Production Manager of daily IPIA findings
  • Responsible for ensuring HUD 302 reports, Alternate Construction reports and Energy Star reports are completed properly and reviewed monthly.
  • Responsible for ensuring weekly DAPIA training with team members (more frequently as necessary in areas identified by repetitive or other quality issues).
  • Ensure QA Administrative database for Training is updated routinely.
  • Assist with training all new team members and department transfers.
  • Training and review of new floor plans, DAPIA designs, Product Standards, supplier data, etc.
  • Responsible for ensuring All testing personnel and their backups are certified as required.
  • Report all quality control and IPIA findings.
  • All IPIA findings are to be answered properly by the QA Manager and Department Manager.
  • Each Department Manager that had a nonconformance found in their area by the IPIA or is a repetitive nonconformance must be documented and answered with the use of a C.E.F. (Compliance Education Form).
  • These forms must be filed and maintained to eliminate repeat issues.
  • Keep the General Manager and Production Manager aware of problem areas and the top three issues.
  • Keep the Home Office aware of repetitive issues, new materials, and any new code interpretations.
  • Maintain any QA information boards as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience preferred in manufactured housing
  • Leadership / management experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • 5+ years' experience in Quality department preferred
  • Certification relating to quality preferred
  • Expert level of knowledge of material
  • Ability to read and understand both orders and prints
  • Provide a great customer experience to retail stores
  • Leadership ability to ensure parts are pulled in a timely manner
  • Communicating clearly and constructively at all levels of the organization

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Work may require stooping, bending, crouching, crawling, pushing, and / or pulling.
  • Work environment is not temperature controlled and may result in exposure to extreme temperatures.
  • Work primarily involves sitting / standing, up to 4 hours at a time.
