ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residency, or status as a U.S. Person as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).***AGM's Buyer compiles information and records to prepare purchase orders for the procurement of materials.


Employees who are in the "Regular" position are expected to uphold and abide by all Company policies and rules, including AGM's "Courtesy and Professionalism Policy".

As such, a Regular Employee is not only expected to incorporate the Courtesy and Professionalism Policy in their dealings with AGM Employees, but also in their dealings with AGM customers, vendors, and visitors.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Must be able to process requests for quotes (RFQ's) with current approved AGM Vendors and/or Suppliers.
  • Must be able to identify and evaluate new AGM Vendors and/or Suppliers as required.
  • Must be able to understand and use New Purchase Order suggestion lists to determine which components need to be Purchased and/or sent out for subcontract processing (IE paint, primer, machining, etc.)
  • Must be able to use AGM's ERP system to determine appropriate purchase quantities and required dates for components based on set minimum on hand, minimum buy, and demand.
  • Must be able to process all Purchase Orders (PO's) in AGM's ERP system following written work instructions.
  • Must be able to read and understand customer flow down requirements, and include these requirements on Purchase Orders
  • Must be able to review production schedules and related information to establish delivery dates for Purchased Materials to ensure customer ship dates are met.
  • Must be able to work with AGM's Production Department to determine material requirements and identify job shortages.
  • Confers with AGM's Vendors and Suppliers in regard to open RFQs, open purchase orders, late deliveries and expedite requests.
  • Interfaces with other AGM departments on issues related to vendor/supplier quality, service, delivery, and invoicing.
  • Must have excellent computer skills.
  • Must have excellent time management skills and a great sense of urgency.
  • Must follow all engineering documentation, and all verbal and written instructions.
  • Must maintain a good level of communication with all employees, management, and vendors/suppliers.
  • Maintains a satisfactory attendance and punctuality record.
  • Other duties may be assigned by a Manager/Supervisor in other areas or departments as needed.
  • Ensures that all ISO (International Organization for Standardization) procedures are followed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


Associate degree (AA) in business or equivalent from two-year college; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be able to speak, read and write excellent English in an effective manner. Must have the ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Must be able to write simple correspondences.
