    Quality Engineering Manager, Boulder, CO

    Ascend Analytics is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager, Quality Engineering to lead and drive our quality assurance initiatives. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of our software applications and systems.

    The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, a strong technical background in software testing, and a passion for ensuring top-notch quality in our technology solutions.

    Job Responsibilities
    Develop and implement a comprehensive QA strategy that ensures the highest levels of quality and reliability in our products and support agile methodologies
    Lead the design, development, and execution of comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for software applications and systems
    Implement and champion the continuous enhancement of testing methodologies, systems, software, and processes, including test management tools, focusing on automation to optimize efficiency and reduce testing time
    Manage a growing team of test engineers and guide external teams to improve testing quality
    Collaborate closely with developers and project teams to identify, prioritize, and address defects, ensuring timely resolution and high-quality deliverables
    Drive the documentation of test results and effectively communicate findings to stakeholders, ensuring alignment with quality standards and project objectives
    Participate actively in code and design reviews to promote testability and maintainability of software products
    Manage and maintain test data, environments, and cross-functional relationships to embed quality within the software development life cycle
    Required Qualifications
    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
    8+ years of progressive experience in software testing, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial capacity
    Profound understanding of software testing methodologies, processes, and best practices
    Strong capabilities in test automation tools and frameworks such as Postman/Newman, Selenium, JUnit, or TestNG
    Hands-on knowledge of performance testing tools like JMeter or LoadRunner
    Practical experience with test management tools like Zephyr Enterprise, PractiTest, TestRail, etc.
    Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
    Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
    Experience building test/QA engineering functions preferred
    Experience with Agile methodologies and CI/CD preferred
    ISTQB or similar certification is preferred
    Familiarity with Azure DevOps tools is a plus

    Compensation:
    $120,000 - $170,000

    Negotiable based on qualifications and experience. Ascend highly values our employees and often pays above industry average.
