    The Hardware Engineering Program Manager (EPM) at Emporia is responsible for leading complex electronics hardware programs from concept through manufacturing ramp. Requiring close collaboration with engineering, vendors, and external manufacturing partners, EPMs are instrumental in aligning all stakeholders through a mix of leadership, engineering knowledge, and superb communication.

    You will:

    • Be immersed in the hardware development and manufacturing processes, shepherding programs from concept to production ramp
    • Use your engineering background to understand the product and manufacturing requirements, technical risks, and validation strategies to accelerate the development and manufacturing bring up processes
    • Develop program schedules, define milestones, identify risks and mitigation strategies and clearly communicate ongoing progress in close collaboration with the engineering design team
    • Host regular program meetings to align stakeholders, review engineering and program updates and build next-step action plans
    • Coordinate and support prototype and early stage production builds with contract manufacturers, including the tracking and resolving of pre-production issues that arise
    • Operate with a high degree of autonomy on your programs while contributing to the development of tools and processes that improve the organizations productivity

    Qualifications:

    You have:

    • BS/MS in electrical engineering or equivalent experience
    • 5+ years industry experience as a program manager or similar role
    • Multiple examples of leading projects from early concept through mass production (volumes greater than 10k/yr), including extensive on-site factory experience with overseas and domestic contract manufacturers
    • Demonstrated experience with manufacturing line bring up and ramp to mass production
    • Demonstrated understanding of the engineering product design cycle
    • Demonstrated experience creating, maintaining and communicating schedules
    • Demonstrated understanding of multilevel Bill of Material hierarchy, including hardware and software components
    • Demonstrated understanding of product release cycle as it relates to the creation and change management of parts and BOM structures
    • Experience with hardware certification processes, ex. UL, FCC, CE, UKCA, etc.
    • Experience with supply chain management
    • Strong organization, written/verbal, problem solving skills.
    • Ability to travel to contract manufacturing partners as needed
    • Ability to wear many hats and thrive in fast-paced startup environment

    • PM experience for EV chargers, inverters, power converters, or energy monitors
    • Extensive experience with PLM and ERP systems, ex. Arena
