To ensure processing of the patient record, the Chart Prep Technician will ensure receipt of all inpatient/outpatient /emergency department patient records; review each patient record for poor original, items that cannot be scanned, patient identification on each document, and will group like documents in the appropriate order.

• High school graduate required with some previous work experience in Health Information Management preferred.
• Education: High school graduate required. Some college or technical training preferred.

• At least 3 months under supervision of HIM Manager until competency is observed.
• Abilities and Skills: Must be able to work at CRT most of the day. Must be able to operate computer keyboard. Must be able to deal with detailed work.

• Ability to effectively communicate (verbally and in writing) in English.
• Ability to write legibly (Clinical Areas).
• Additional languages desirable.
