- Serve all food and beverage items utilizing appropriate plating, glassware, silverware and condiments
- Ensure service areas are safe by transporting items in the appropriate manner and all spills and hazardous materials are attended to immediately.
- Have a comprehensive knowledge of all menu items, beverages, wines, etc.
- Ensure quality guest service and comfort at all times by monitoring the area continuously.
- Clear tables and return equipment to their appropriate areas. All reusable food items are to be returned to the kitchen.
- Maintain ServSafe regulations when serving alcoholic beverages.
- Gather all items needed to service a function.
- Stand, walk and exert well-paced activity for up to 4 hours in length.
- Ability to physically self-demonstrate and culinary techniques such as cooking principles, cutting, plate presentation and safety and sanitation practices.
- Most tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is controlled by hotel environmental systems. Must be able to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10°F) and kitchens (+110°F)
- Ability to physically handle and carry knives, pots and pans and transport up to 50Ibs to every area of the kitchen. Ask for assistance if needed.
- Must be able to lift 30Ibs on a regular and continuing basis.
- Push/pull carts weighing up to 250Ibs occasionally (ask for assistance if needed)
- Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited spaces.
- Knowledge of table service standards, to which include table settings, appearance of food, beverage, etc.
- Knowledge of federal, state and local laws, ordinances, and regulations in regards to serving alcohol
- High school or equivalent education required.
- Knowledge of proper ID checking
- Must be available on-call
- Practice and observe all safety rules and regulations.
- Must be able to work under pressure and also work in long or break shifts.
- Must be available to work weekdays, weekends and holidays as needed.
- Must be able to communicate with guests, supervisors and co-workers.
- Knowledge and understanding of safety and sanitation standards.
- Must be personable and be able to communicate with guests, managers and co-workers.
- Knowledge of hotel services and facilities.
- Knowledge on directions, hotel locations, and surrounding area.
