About us
Miss Cheyenne's Pre-K Academy is a small school in Columbia, MD. Our goal is to create a fun and supportive working environment with long-term staff.

We have a small class size of 16 students with a combination of pre-k, TK, and kindergarten students (ages 4-6).

There is one classroom teacher, and a total of two assistant teachers. We are a 10-month school with employment opportunities over the summer. In addition, staff receive paid holidays, winter break, and spring break (we closely follow the HCPSS academic calendar).

Job Requirements are listed below, but are not limited to:

• Assistant teacher is expected to participate in ECE courses which total 12 hours annually. Maintain CPR & First Aid, and any other MSDE required courses/trainings.
• Assist the classroom teacher in daily paperwork.
• Complete incident reports.
• Conduct informal student assessments.
• Support lead teacher so that the classroom functions without disruption.
• Helps prepare and implement daily lesson plans.
• Is energetic and welcoming to families, students, and other staff members.
• Follow MSDE regulations and school policies and procedures.
• The assistant teacher should be able to lift up to 50 pounds (children, equipment, furniture).
• Flexible as needed to maintain ratios.
• Clean equipment as necessary (tables, chairs, hightouch surfaces, toys, etc).
• Clean and restock bathrooms and classroom as necessary.

- Mandatory Requirements:

• 90 clock hours for preschool (AA or BS in early childhood education is preferred)
• High school diploma
• One year experience working in early childhood education.

$ $20.00 per hour
