    Teaching Assistant Professor of Accounting

    Summary of Job Duties:
    The William Dillard Department of Accounting in the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas seeks applications from interested candidates to fill a Non-Tenure Track Teaching Assistant Professor of Accounting position effective Fall 2024. Salary is competitive and commensurate with education and experience.

    This position is expected to teach eight courses per year with a mix of face-to-face and online courses, as needed, normally with no more than two course preparations per semester.

    Teaching assignments will emphasize Principles of Accounting I, which provides students with a broad exposure to the fundamentals of accounting, and upper-level course(s) that focus on various aspects of corporate accounting (product costing, corporate controllership, etc.).

    Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

    Qualifications:
    Minimum Qualifications:

    Ph.D. in accounting or related field from an accredited institution of higher education conferred by the start of employment

    At least three years or more of prior teaching experience in higher education in a College of Business setting

    Be academically qualified per AACSB

    Professional experience in a managerial capacity in a corporate accounting environment

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Strong teaching records, who have demonstrated the ability to provide an excellent learning environment in the classroom

    Experience effectively coordinating a team of instructors to implement a consistent set of course materials across multiple sections

    The William Dillard Department of Accounting: The department develops outstanding students and faculty who meaningfully impact the global accounting community. The department currently has thirteen tenured or tenure-track faculty members, six teaching/clinical faculty members, eight full-time instructors, and several part-time instructors. The department offers an undergraduate degree program in accounting and graduate programs at both the master's and doctoral levels. The department also offers a five-year integrated program, which leads to the simultaneous awarding of an undergraduate degree and a master's degree. The department's programs are accredited by the AACSB – The International Association for Management Education, which ensures quality and promotes excellence and continuous improvement in undergraduate and graduate education. The department was named as part of a gift that was provided in honor of William Dillard Sr.

    The Sam M. Walton College of Business: The Sam M. Walton College of Business promotes the values of being "EPIC", which stands for Excellence, Professionalism, Innovation and Collegiality.
