Metro Trailer Leasing is looking for a motivated and high energy individual to help its leasing trailer repair operation.

This position will focus on maintaining both our company's and customer's expectation as well as maintaining our equipment up to DOT and FMCSA standards and compliance.


Salary Range
$25 per hour and up based on experience & tools

Trailer Technician Job Requirements & Duties:

  • Effectively diagnose and repair the following components:
  • Suspension and running gear
  • Landing gear assembly
  • Wheel, hub, and tire assemblies
  • Brake, air, ABS, and air ride systems
  • Electrical lighting and wiring components
  • Rear frame and door assembly
  • Side, nose, and roof components
  • Interior and floor components
  • Interior and floor components
  • Able to thoroughly perform Preventative Maintenance inspections a repairs and complete proper forms
  • Maintains high level of welding and metal fabrication skills
  • Perform road service calls as needed
  • Assist and perform duties of other technicians as needed
  • Perform other duties as needed
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and environment
  • This is an
    In-Shop Position that may require infrequent or frequent travel to service calls.
    Most work days will be spent in a full bay shop.

Knowledge/ Requirements

  • Possess personal knowledge and skills to perform preventative maintenance on
48ft, 53ft and flatbed trailers and be qualified to complete FHWA inspections.

  • Properly diagnose and complete necessary repairs, including air brake systems
and electrical systems.

  • Inventory Control
  • Work well consistently in a team environment, or alone.
  • Applicant must own all personal tools required to perform the job and will be
required to acquire necessary hand tools as needed.

  • Valid Driver's license/ Clean MVR/Reliable Transportation

Physical Requirements

  • Bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb ladders and stairs, stand, walk,
and turn/pivot frequently throughout the duration of the workday.

  • Lift, lower, push, pull, leverage and manipulate equipment weighing up to 100
pounds

  • Simple hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, reaching
from foot level to above shoulder level as necessary to complete assigned tasks
