Summary:
Performs administrative and clinical tasks to support the work of physicians and clinician staff ensuring delivery of high quality patient-centered medical care as well as regulatory and safety excellence.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Deliver an excellent patient experience by way of exemplary patient focus and customer service skills
- Assist physician in exam rooms
- Escort patients to exam rooms, interviews patients and document all information in the patient chart
- Give instructions to patients as instructed by physician
- Administer injections as defined and directed by the provider
- Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed and available in the patients' medical records prior to their appointment
- Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required
- Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls
- Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to physicians
- Maintain all logs
- Register patients for ipledge
- Initiate and complete prior authorizations for medications
- Organize, track and stock medical supplies
- Cleaning duties as directed by management, following standard OSHA and practice policies and protocols
- Effectively and safely use various pieces of equipment (autoclave, ultrasonic, etc.)
- Maintain HIPAA compliance
- All other duties as assigned
Required education:
- High school or equivalent
Required experience:
Certified
Medical Assistant:
1 year
- Dermatology Experience (Strongly preferred)
- Phlebotomy skills
