Wespath, recognized as a Chicago's Best and Brightest Companies to Work For and a National Best and Brightest Companies to Work For, has an opportunity for an Associate Investment Accountant that is primarily responsible for ensuring the accuracy of fund accounting records including the verification of nightly fund prices, analysis, and related operational duties.
The Associate Investment Accountant monitors the calculation of daily funds' net asset values and all fund reporting and disclosure requirements in accordance with U.S.
Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).More specifically, as the Associate Investment Accountant you will:
- Determine the daily funding requirements for each fund.
- Review daily Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations performed by the custodial bank and ensure the timely receipt of fund prices/factors from the custodial bank.
- Record investment accounting related transactions in accordance with GAAP.
- Responsible for reporting and analysis for securities lending activities.
- Fee calculation and allocation, including management fees, operating expenses and custody fees.
- Oversee the monthly verification and timely posting of fund performance on Wespath websites.
- Assist in the preparation of yearend Annual Report for investment related financial statement footnote disclosures. Prepare audit schedules and work papers as required by the internal/external auditors.
- Prepare and review reconciliations between the custodian's records and account holder records. Evaluate discrepancies and recommends resolution to open issues.
- Collaborate with Wespath Investment Management, custodial bank and/or investment managers in researching variances and out of tolerances.
- Act as a primary backup for other investment accounting staff responsibilities.
- Respond to internal and external inquiries and issues.
- Participate in special projects as needed.

- The compensation range for this position is $62,000 $68,000 with a bonus opportunity and customary benefits. Final compensation will be set based on the hired applicant's qualifications (education, training, and/or experience related to this role), and as such, may fall outside the range shown.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience.
- Expert skills in MS Word and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
years of fund accounting experience.
- Experience using various general ledger software systems and Bloomberg Terminal.
- Experience with Chat GPT is a bonus.
