- Completion of eighth grade or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired is necessary.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
- Six months experience in the preparation and service of food in an institutional or commercial food service facility.
- Knowledge of food preparation, including knife skills, and equipment, service and sanitation methods.
- Ability to handle and lift heavy kitchen utensils and supplies (e.g., 40 pounds)
- Good physical health sufficient to perform job responsibilities.
- Customer service and supervisory experience with a desire to provide high-quality customer service is strongly preferred.
- ServSafe certification desirable upon hire or can be acquired within approximately six months of hire.

Job Description
Direct, help train, and assist Food Service Worker (FSW) II, I, and student employees in food preparation and following proper food handling techniques. Maintain a clean, sanitary, safe, and secure working area. Set up service/preparation and dishwashing/pot-and-pan washing areas; clean and replenish the service/preparation areas, dining room, and pot-and-pan dishwashing/areas during and after service. Provide high-quality service to customers; assist in meeting the department's customer service objectives. Inventory, order, and receive products; prepare cash reports and maintain the safe. Help the department constantly improve and reach its vision (commitment to excellence and passion for people). Perform other duties as assigned. Performs a variety of food service tasks related to the operation of a snack bar or food service outlet.
Shift
7:00 am - 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday
Minimum Qualifications
ServSafe Certification -preferred or has to be acquired within approximately six months of hire

Salary Range: $ $15.84 an hour
Grade: GGS B
