OVERALL DESCRIPTION:


  • Responsible for measuring and monitoring operating key performance indicators. Provides operating performance information and statistics for both routine reporting mechanisms and special requests. Assists in oversight and/or performance of special or confidential projects as requested.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Analyzes evaluates SEPTA's operating performance. Coordinates crossdepartmental efforts to collect, compile, analyze, track and report performance.
  • Streamlines Operations' reporting, creating dashboards and databases as needed. Coordinates reporting standardization and data accessibility across all operating departments.
  • Creates new performance indicators and refines existing indicators to provide a clearer assessment of operating performance.
  • Coordinates appropriate performance data and information as requested under various reporting obligations, such as routine industry reporting requirements (Federal, State and local regulatory entities and special requests for information).
  • Coordinates goal setting process for providing operation's submissions for annual development of the operating budget. Ensure that topdown goal setting results in full incorporation of strategic business plan directives.
  • Acts as liaison for development, tracking and reporting of SEPTA's Strategic Business Plan tactics that fall under the responsibility of operating departments.
  • Assists in the implementation of the Chief Operations Officer's priority agenda items. Tracks Operations Initiatives and special projects as needed.
  • Manages Operations Professional Development program aimed at succession planning and uniformity. Looks for ways for continuous improvement and expansion across all modes.
  • Assists in the coordination and review of Operations' annual performance reviews and merit program.
  • Performs special projects and ad hoc analyses as needed. Expected to be performed independently and may require confidentiality.
  • Investigates overtime spending for all operating departments, identifies and targets heavy hitters for possible reductions.
  • Complies with all Authority and departmental safety and security policies and procedures as well as all applicable job safety responsibilities. Reports any safety concerns, compromises or hazards affecting operations, the public, self and/or other employees. Responsible for personal safety and is encouraged to promote the safety of others.
  • Performs other special duties and assignments as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administrations, Planning, Finance or a related field and a minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience working in data analysis and/or budgeting required.
  • An equivalent amount of experience and education (I.e., two (2) years of related experience equating to one (1) year of formal post high school education) may be considered in lieu of the above requirements.
  • Experience in Operations preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Must possess excellent organization skills and the ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI preferred
