The
Research Program Manager is responsible for providing direct administrative and management support for the sickle cell COBRE grant.

The program manager serves as the administrative lead for all programmatic initiatives that involve the assigned grant and programs; implements and improves operational practices and procedures within the assigned program.

The manager serves as the lead and key resource person to support team members and others related to effort reporting requirements; routinely multi-tasks, solves complex problems and is open to constant challenge and change.

The manager requires knowledge of grants administration and the research environment, policies, and standard practices; initiates and maintains positive working relationships with internal and external entities.

An ability to work independently and prioritize is essential and the ability to achieve results in the absence of explicit guidance and/or instruction is expected.


  • Coordinates the daily operations and provides primary administrative leadership of the National Institutes of Health Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) Award
  • Assists leadership team with the implementation of research program objectives, including but not limited to the coordination of annual internal and external reviews of COBREsupported cores and projects.
  • Uses effective planning, organizational, coordination, and directing skills to schedule and establish arrangements for various functions
  • Advises and acts as a liaison between various private and federal funding agencies
  • Prepares summary quarterly and annual budgetary reports for fiscal oversight, including program forecasting
  • Collaborates with possible future investigators, scientists, potential mentors, and other Nemours personnel and provides information and guidance as needed and appropriate.
  • Works with participants and partners to ensure compliance with sponsoring agency requirements
  • Analyzes funding agency Requests for Applications (RFAs) and identifies requirements to ensure compliant responses prior to submission of proposals (e.g., supplemental and administrative grant submissions)

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in business/management/operations or healthrelated field, such as nursing, psychology, social work, public health or science related.
  • Administrative experience with federal research grants and clinical research preferred.
