The Frankie's World Summer Camp Counselor supervises daytime campers ages 7-11 who have special medical needs.Duties:
- Ensure the safety, development, growth, skill achievement, and general wellbeing of our day campers.
- Maintain a schedule and attendance record for camp participants.
- Create lesson plans for daily activities organized around weekly themes.
- Facilitate and lead various small group activities based on lesson plans.
- Implement developmentally appropriate practices (redirection, hygiene, selfcare skills.)
- Use strategies and techniques that suit the special needs of each individual child.
- Facilitate learning and play throughout the day.
- Collaborate in a classroom setting with nursing staff who monitor the health of the campers.
Requirements:
- At least (1) year of childcare experience.
- Can successfully work and collaborate with others.
- Possess patience, understanding and care when engaging with children and families.
- Communication and time management skills.
- Certification or degree in early childhood education or special education a plus but not a requirement.
Pay:
$18.00 per hour
