Responsible for supervising, directing, and coordinating all departmental activities related to safety, quality, productivity, material scheduling, housekeeping, training, and adherence to company policies during the shift.

Apollo Metals, a subsidiary of Tata Steel, is searching for a Manufacturing Supervisor for our plant located in Bethlehem PA.

Responsibilities_:_

Operations:

-
Ensure all hourly employees and Outside Service personnel follow Plant Safety Rules & Regulations
-
Ensure all hourly employees receive proper training to perform assigned tasks. Provide crew members with SOP training. Give special consideration to new hires.

Responsible for scheduling the hourly workforce per production requirements.

Communicate applicable work assignments to the hourly employees. Assignments shall include a sequence of operation and completion objectives. Do follow-up to resolve issues that hinder the completion

Document all shift safety/property damage incidents. Provide immediate, accurate and thorough information on the Apollo Shift Supervisors Report. Participate in accident investigations as required.

Perform required Operating Unit Audits. Maintain a high level of orderliness and cleanliness in all areas

Post and communicate Temporary Work Instructions (TWI's). Discard out-of-date TWI's

Coordinate shift maintenance activities to minimize delays and maximize the efficiency of the operation. Issue work orders as necessary.

Conduct all new hire and safety orientations

Production Planning:

-
Ensures compliance with shipping dates according to sales forecasts and customer orders by creating a master production schedule to establish sequence and lead time for each plant operation.

Ensure adequate manufacturing processes by analyzing product specifications and capacity data, performing mathematical calculations to determine the required workforce, and planning and scheduling workflow for each operation according to manufacturing sequences and lead times.

Optimizes stock levels within guidelines determined by management ensuring efficient utilization and allocation of raw stock, WIP, and sales stock to best meet business needs

Accountable for corrective actions associated with steel inventory takes.

Monitors efficiency of manufacturing and production processes by analyzing material usage and variances and delivery performance by product and by customer.

Monitors production process by conferring with designated management and supervisory personnel to determine status of customer orders, expediting operations that delay schedules, and altering schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.

Compiles and maintains applicable documents, reports, and statistical data as required.

Other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager or Vice President, of manufacturing.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree (Technical) Preferred. Will consider a 2year Technical Degree with equivalent experience.
23 Years Supervisory Experience
PC Knowledgeable
Good Communication Skills (Verbal & Written)
Good Interpersonal Skills
