About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Transactional Conflicts Associate


In this role, you will:


  • Review intake of conflicts clearance requests and interact with deal teams to understand business opportunities
  • Provide guidance on transactional conflictrelated queries and helping bankers submit Conflicts clearance requests.
  • Gather information and conduct due diligence of business opportunities under review by considering current and past engagements, existing credit and equity positions and other relevant relationships that may give rise to a potential conflict of interest
  • Escalate potential issues and analysis to Conflicts senior team members.
  • Document conflict analysis using firm database, and monitor the status of opportunities once cleared to proactively identify issues that may arise following the initial conflict check
  • Collaborate with team members, the Control Room, Compliance and Legal to identify and resolve potential issues arising during the course of the conflict check review process.
  • Leading group strategic projects (e.g. new technology, Banker training, etc.).

Required Qualifications, US:


  • 2+ years of Transactions and Processing experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:


  • Experience directly in M&A or Conflicts or Legal supporting Investment Banking (including M&A)
  • Must have the ability to chart and analyze the relationship among multiple global entities and identify possible conflict issues
  • Must have the ability to communicate (verbal and written) with senior bankers and the Firm's senior management in a clear, precise and efficient manner and offer sound independent judgment
  • Must have the confidence/fortitude to probe across the spectrum of stakeholders to ensure end analysis is complete
  • Ability to operate in fast paced, dynamic work environment with high sense of urgency in getting results and resolving open issues.
  • Strong sense of discretion in dealing with highly sensitive and confidential information
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Proactive and selfmotivated
  • Ability to work in close coordination with others as part of a small team
