We are seeking an Apartment / Multifamily Real Estate Development Project Engineer to assist the construction team with the project set-up, implementation, and closeout of high-density residential rental communities and mixed-use projects throughout the Inland Empire.

This position will report to the VP of Construction functioning both in the office and on-site at project locations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain project schedule as assigned by the VP of Construction

Develop and support the initial setup of the project management system to maintain and manage subcontractor requests for information (RFI) and project submittal pipeline

Timely review and processing of project plans provided to the field and shared with subcontractors about contract drawing, specifications, shop drawings, samples, etc.

to include verification to ensure proper coordination and installation

Monitor availability and track shipment status of critical materials and equipment

Receive, prepare, update, and process RFIs marking up field set plans

Prepare, update, distribute, and circulate submittals and RFI logs to subcontractors and Superintendents while also identifying and reporting RFIs with potential budget impacts.

Work with Superintendent(s) / Project Manager(s) to organize and develop accurate schedule updates

Assist with site utilization plans and documentation of each subcontractor site-specific safety and quality issues

Develop and maintain relationships with all

subcontractors/vendors,

engineers, consultants, as well as field and corporate team members and owner/developer.

Attend weekly subcontractor meetings on site to assist with the distribution of various forms including preparation and maintenance of logs and reports of meeting minutes, project meeting agendas, and notes to be presented for weekly subcontractor meetings

Work with Superintendents to develop accurate schedule updates

Maintain timely and accurate reporting to management

Ensure daily reports are completed by project supervisors

Ability to deliver information across multiple communication platforms (verbal, email, text, internal reporting and construction management software) working with horizontal and vertical construction and subcontractors to ensure the completion of tasks

Assist the corporate multifamily construction department with various tasks as assigned

Assist field with organization and documentation through project progress to include but not limited to administrative tasks and follow-up of SWPPP, safety, maintenance, and construction

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years Multi-Family Construction Project Engineering experience with a preference of residential / apartment 3 story walkup or garden style construction and understands podium aka metal/steel as well as mixed use construction.

Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Must have a solid focus on safety and safety standards (OSHA certification desired not required)

Must have excellent communication skills

Proven ability to project manage with strong organizational skills able to multitask and prioritize assignments

Keen foundation of customer service

Able to problem-solve providing solutions
