- Performs general fund accounting and other related duties for the organization.
- Prepares monthly nonprofit financial statements and reports.
- Maintains the general ledger.
- Manages grant records, communicates information, and insights to Program Directors.
- Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
- Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
- Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivable collections.
- Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable or grant drawdowns, and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
- Provides outside auditors with assistance, gathers necessary account information, and documents to perform annual audit, agency 990 and annual report.
- Works with Program Directors to create grant budgets.
- Files grant reports with federal, state, and local government agencies, and other grantors.
- Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports.
- Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
- Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
- Continue professional education by participating in webinars, workshops, and networking events
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

We're looking for a qualified staff accountant to help keep our finances and budgets on track with unwavering accuracy. The ideal candidate will have a natural passion for analysis and intricate knowledge of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, nonprofit fund accounting, and other financial transactions within the organization. The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization's financial activities. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the staff accountant will play an important support role, clarifying the financial outlook of our agency with precise, proactive measures.
