    Description

    The Accountant roles within the Outsourced Accounting and Bill Pay department are expected to maintain a portfolio of external client books to provide timely and accurate financial reporting. There are two roles available based on experience and proven performance they are Staff Accountant and Senior Staff Accountant.

    The positions offer an opportunity to autonomously manage multi-entity accounting. They partner primarily with the internal Tax Directors and Wealth Managers, reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, with the indirect supervision of the Director of Accounting Services.

    PRIMARY JOB DUTIES

    This position requires proficiency in Excel and strong time management, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.

    Candidates for senior accountant positions should possess solid communication, technology, organizational and analytical skills.

    • Coordinate with department managers on any ad hoc assignments
    • Preparing financial statements, journal entries and account reconciliations.
    • Review the producibles of Staff Accountants assigned to their team.
    • Mentor and assist Staff Accountants to encourage professional growth.
    • Completing month-end and year-end close
    • Preparing financial statements, journal entries and account reconciliations
    • Reconciling and balancing general ledger accounts
    • Researching and correcting account discrepancies

    Qualifications

    • A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance related field.
    • Professional communication skills.
    • Highly organized and efficient with proven time-management skills.
    • The ability to autonomously create and maintain a daily/weekly schedule.
    • Accustomed to working independently.
    • The ability to learn new technology and willingness to complete training courses as needed
    • 5+ years' experience with QuickBooks online.
    • Maintaining and reconciling fixed assets schedules
    • Assisting with initial internal control evaluations
    • 1+ year experience as a team lead
