Job Description:

The Estimating Assistant will play a crucial role in the Estimating Department, managing bid documents and working extensively with the company's in-house ERP system and estimating software. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate and timely preparation of estimates, contributing to the efficiency of the bidding process.

Key Responsibilities:

Document Management: Organize, manage, and maintain bid documents, ensuring they are accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible.
Data Entry and Analysis: Enter data into the ERP system and estimating software, ensuring accuracy and consistency. Analyze data to assist in the preparation of estimates.
Collaboration: Work closely with the Estimating team to understand project requirements and assist in developing accurate estimates.
Reporting: Generate reports and provide insights based on data analysis to support decision-making processes.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the estimating process and contribute to the implementation of these improvements.

Required Qualifications:

Education: A degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
Experience: Prior experience in a similar role or in the construction/architectural millwork industry is advantageous.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems and estimating software. Comfortable with data entry and analysis.

Work Environment:

Predominantly office-based within the company's headquarters in Norfolk, Virginia.
Standard office hours with occasional overtime during peak periods.
