Job Title: Senior DevOps Engineer (Remote, Contract-to-Hire)

Overview: We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer for a long-term remote contract with the potential for permanent placement. This pivotal role demands expertise in leading automated code deployments at an enterprise scale.

Responsibilities:

Systems Engineering:
- Collaborate with application teams to architect scalable and resilient infrastructure.
- Lead efforts in orchestrating and automating application deployments.
- Develop automation processes to facilitate self-service production deployments.
- Utilize and enhance various automation tools to streamline operations.
- Work with cross-functional teams to establish platform observability.
- Participate in release and deployment activities for applications and infrastructure.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience:
- Minimum ten years in technology infrastructure and engineering.
- Minimum five years in leading DevOps initiatives with a focus on automated code deployments.
Expertise:
- Deep understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
- Proficiency with domain and industry-standard tools (CNCF, DevOps, CI/CD, Secrets Management, Container Registries).
- Solid experience deploying highly available applications in both on-premises and Azure cloud environments.
- Demonstrated skills in writing Ansible playbooks for automation and pipeline construction.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Terraform, Ansible, Git, and Azure.
- Familiarity with build, test, and deployment tools.
- Experience with Source Control Management Systems.
- Competence in containerization and container orchestration.

Note: This role requires hands-on involvement rather than an architectural focus. The successful candidate will be instrumental in evaluating applications for cloud migration via automation, containerization, and modernization. References will be checked during the interview process.
