Job Summary:


The Payroll Specialist will process weekly payroll and maintain employee time records as well as interact with the company's clients by addressing inquiries and resolving complaints.


Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Ensures that appropriate actions are taken to resolve clients' problems and concerns.
  • Maintains client accounts and records of client interactions with details of inquiries, complaints, or comments.
  • Uses knowledge of specific services, or other assigned area of expertise to answer inquiries or to forward to the appropriate staff.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employee's hourly rates, bonuses or other compensation, reimbursements, time worked, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
  • Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions.
  • Reconciles payroll to the general ledger and monthly bank statements.
  • Issues, or reissues, physical or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge.
  • Records and processes federal and state payroll tax deposits.

Required Skills/Abilities:


  • Excellent communication skills including active listening.
  • Serviceoriented and able to resolve customer grievances.
  • Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software.
  • Knowledge of, or ability to learn, the Consumer Directed Services delivery model of home healthcare.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll software.

Education and Experience:


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Customer service experience required.
  • Some experience with home healthcare services preferred.

Physical Requirements:


  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Pay:
$ $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
