Description

The Endpoint and Datacenter Lead will be responsible for the comprehensive management and oversight of endpoint devices and datacenter operations within the organization.

This role involves strategic planning, implementation, and maintenance of endpoint management solutions and datacenter infrastructure to ensure high availability, security compliance, and efficient operation of services.

The Endpoint and Datacenter Lead will report directly to the IT Director and collaborate closely with other IT management staff, system administrators, and external vendors.


Key Responsibilities:

Endpoint Management:


  • Oversee the management of all endpoint devices, including Windows, Linux, and Mac systems, utilizing industrystandard tools such as JAMF, Puppet, and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager.
  • Propose solutions for unified endpoint management across various operating systems (Windows 10, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu Linux, macOS, iOS, and Android).
  • Ensure all software is deployed via approved enterprise solutions, maintained within two major releases, and tracked for vulnerability & STIG compliance, usage metrics, and licensing.

Datacenter Operations:


  • Oversee the management of all databases in the enterprise, including MySQL, Oracle, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, MongoDB, SQLite, and EDB.
  • Propose methods/technologies to streamline database technologies and support future database technologies as required.
  • Ensure the availability and performance of all servers and services within hyperconverged server clusters, including backup and restore operations as part of the Disaster Recovery Plan.

Network Engineering and Support:


  • Conduct market research to inform the list of available hardware and provide recommendations to reduce overall printer footprint.
  • Manage printer/copier services, including installation, setup, maintenance, and proactive consumable management.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure enterprise resources continue to function reliably, including replacing failed hardware and addressing system alerts.

Infrastructure Monitoring and Cybersecurity:


  • Collect monitoring and performance data for continuous improvement programs and propose a dashboard to track interruptions, outages, and serviceaffecting events.
  • Respond to afterhours alerts and maintain the Governmentapproved IT system Critical Asset List.
  • Support the organization's move to a Continuous Monitoring Authority to Operate (ATO) for unclassified and classified networks, managing vulnerabilities and cybersecurity compliance.

Professional Development and Compliance:


  • Ensure all personnel supporting IA/IT functions are appropriately certified in accordance with DoD , DoD M, and AR 25
  • Maintain platform access and role assignments for the ServiceNow platform, perform security patching, and ensure the platform is maintained at the latest named release.
