- Provide instructional support and assistance to students, including those with special needs
- Assist students with academic tasks, including reading, writing, math, and other subject areas, under the directionteachers.
- Implement behavior management strategies and support students in developing appropriate social skills.
- Assist with the implementation of acmodations and modifications outlined in students' IEPs.
- Provide support during small group instruction and individualized instruction as needed.
- Assist with classroom organization and preparation of instructional materials.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff members to ensure the success and inclusion of students with special needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Illinois paraprofessional certification or pending certification required
- Experience in an elementary school setting preferred
- Experience working with students on the autism spectrum preferred
- Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team
- Strong interpersonal and munication skills
